On-Going Green Initiatives and Packaging Costs

Current Green Initiatives at Porters:

• Fry oil is converted to bio-diesel
• Cardboard Recycling
• All Electricity purchased from wind-generated supplier

​Upcoming Green Initiatives:

• Glass (liquor/wine) and metal can recycling
• Compost
• Bio-friendly packaging and bags for takeout

The change to bio-friendly takeout packaging is one that's cost-intensive.  Therefore, we are passing on a 50 cent takeout surcharge on to our customers to help share the increased bag, bio-friendly box and utensil costs.
